A few days ago, an exciting surprise arrived in my mailbox: a glossy catalog previewing the University of Tennessee Press’s spring and summer 2026 titles. The picture above displays the catalog’s front and back covers side by side. Among the twenty forthcoming books is my own new title, Land of Dreams: An Immigrant’s Journey from War-Torn Vietnam to America, scheduled for June 2026—just a few short weeks before the nations’ 250th birthday.
The full preview of my book appears on page 9 of the catalog, and a scanned image of that page is shown to the left. You will also find a picture of the book cover on the back of the catalog (bottom, second from left).
Don’t worry about trying to read the fine print in these scans—I will provide a link where you can view the entire catalog in PDF format and adjust the font size to your liking.

The release of my book is still a few months away (June 9, 2026), but the University of Tennessee Press has already set up the Amazon pre-order page for those who’d like a peek and has now released the complete spring and summer catalog. This is a different approach from what I’ve experienced with my previous books—more methodical, less hurried, and planned well in advance, even if my impatience is killing me! It’s a new journey I’m thrilled to be on, and I’m grateful to have you along for it. Until the next update, stay healthy, happy, and focused on your goals!

Jim, I will get your book in June. I know you put your heart and soul into your writing. I know you have a unique story to tell. So bring it on Jim!
Thank you, John. June can’t arrive too soon for me!
Wow, I admire your patience waiting for the loooong-awaited release! I guess Molière’s comment applies: “The trees that are slow to grow bear the best fruit.” 😀
Hey Steve, who am I to argue with that 🙂
Besides, at this point in my life, time just flies by! Summer will be here before we know it.
Hi Jim! I wish you well!
You may not remember me, but I met you in the Viet Nam Gate 1 trip several years ago.
I’m glad you’re still ‘at it’!
Best to you!
Hi Kathy! Yes, I remember you and the trip we shared all those years ago. Hope all is going well with you. Thanks for staying in touch.
