Over the next thirty days, I’ll be giving a talk about my book Once Upon a Mulberry Field at some branch libraries around San Diego. The talk is approximately 45 minutes long followed by an always lively questions-and-answers session at the end. If you’ll be in town, mark your calendar and come join us at any of the libraries. Below are the different dates, times, and locations.
Oct 14, 06:30 pm – 07:30 pm, Carmel Valley (San Diego Public Library)
Oct 21, 10:00 am – 11:00 am, Rancho Santa Fe (San Diego County Library)
Nov 15, 02:00 pm – 03:00 pm, Solana Beach (San Diego County Library)
The last two presentations (at the Rancho Santa Fe and Solana Beach Branches) are also part of the 2014 California Reads, which is a reading and discussion series designed to promote civic dialogue and meaningful conversation related to the theme War Comes Home. I am honored and delighted to be taking part in it. In addition, the talk at the Solana Beach Branch Library is also scheduled as a Veterans Day program for that week.
After the libraries, I’m also invited to speak at the November meeting of the Palm Springs Branch of the National League of American Pen Women, which I’m really looking forward to. And then for the rest of the year, I’ll be joining some book clubs in their discussions of Mulberry Field—in person whenever possible or via Skype when the book club is too far away.
So if you would like me to come give a talk at your organization or local library or to participate in your book club discussion, please use the contact form to let me know and I’d be happy to oblige whenever I can. To me, this interactive sharing of my book with various audiences is the rewarding and real fun part of publishing, right up there with the writing itself.
